Head-to-Toe Summer Must-Haves

Once short shorts and leg waxing consistently make their way into your wardrobe and routine, it’s safe to say that summer is here. And with easy dressing and natural beauty comes the need to keep the skin, hair and all our lady parts nourished and healthy while under the sun. May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month and, luckily for us, beauty brands have come up with an array of protective, nourishing products that are perfect for the warm weather days ahead. Poshly scoured the brick and mortar and online stores to find some of our favorites. Read on and indulge!

L’Oréal Sublime Sun Advanced Sunscreen Liquid Silk Sunshield for face, SPF 50
is quite the mouthful. But a handful will get you through the week. Unfortunately there are still a few ladies out there who don’t believe in SPF daily. But when you spend more than a total of 30 minutes a day outside, it’s important that you apply it. This face-specific formula has a high SPF level to give you coverage when the sun is at its most intense. The sheer formula is lightweight and non-greasy. It’s also sweat and water-resistant, so you can rest assured that you’re protected even on those high perspiration days. It’s also antioxidant rich, so the skin looks more flawless and dewy with every application.

Hampton Sun After Sun Moisturizer
has the summer essentials checklist: aloe, jojoba oil, cocoa butter, tea tree oil, green tea, and chamomile. Not only does it prolong your tan, it smells fabulous and leaves skin feeling hydrated. Because, let’s be real, as bad as sunbathing is for the skin, most of us still indulge at least a few times in the summer season. At least feeding the skin a moisturizer that fights and heals dryness eases the guilt—and of course the parchedness.

Bumble and Bumble Color Minded UV Protective Hair Polish
is like the anti-Sun-In. It locks out water, locks in color, and treats dry hair that sun damage can create. With rosemary extract, the polish makes color shine and fights the summer humidity. This product gives hair what a bright coat of seasonal polish gives nails.

Lips have it rough. They get chapped and dry by cold wind in the winter and they get chapped and dry by hot wind and lack of hydration in the summer. So Fresh decided it was time to give lips a break with their Sugar Passion Lip Treatment SPF 15. With moisture-locking sugar, black currant seed oil, and antioxidant-rich polyphenols, it gives long-lasting nourishment and contains the always necessary SPF. So we can keep our lips kissable on those beach days or when the hot whip of the wind from the subway blows by.

Olive oil is good for the skin, hair, nails and face. So naturally Sabon’s Olive Oil Soap with Lemon Mix is a skin’s delight. It’s super hydrating and can replace moisturizer if you pat dry. Rich in antioxidants, this soap does double duty as it cleanses and nourishes skin—using both the healthy elements of olive oil and the nutrients of lemon (like vitamin-C). It’s mild enough not to dry out sunburned skin and leaves skin smelling like a delicious summer treat.
